Argeton is the original and oldest manufacturer of terracotta rainscreen systems and enjoys a dominating presence on the world stage. Developed in Germany more than 20 years ago, Argeton has been successfully installed on thousands of projects in more than 29 countries including Germany, France, Great Britain, China, Qatar, Spain, Russia, Ireland, Iceland, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, and the United States. The Argeton system is fully engineered and tested to meet the building criterion for new construction and retrofit in the United States and around the world.
The Argeton plant, located in Gorlitz, Germany, is possibly the world’s most efficient and environmentally conscious manufacturing facility of terracotta. The plant runs 24 hours per day, year around, with a shutdown during the holidays for retooling and maintenance. Special care is given to recycling of raw materials when possible and environmental stewardship of the surrounding area and clay sources. Ongoing research programs keep Argeton at the forefront of efficiencies and quality. It is this dedication to constant improvement that allows Argeton to produce the highest quality tiles in a very competitive environment
In 2005 the Argeton System and Mueller were purchased by the Wienerberger Corporation. Wienerberger is the world's largest producer of terracotta. It is also the world’s leading producer of brick. Among its many subsidiaries are General Shale and Arriscraft in the United States. Wienerberger owns and operates 252 plants worldwide in 24 different countries (Revenues: 2007: $4,085M).
