One Clinton, Brooklyn Heights, New York sharply cuts the Brooklyn sky and historic streets. The Architectural vision included a sophisticated and elegant triangular design.
One Clinton rises 38 stories at the edge of Brooklyn Heights, integrating a modern residential tower with the redevelopment of the Brooklyn Public Library site. The project’s distinctive triangular massing and limestone façade establish a strong presence in the historic streetscape while offering expansive views toward New York Harbor. Wrapped in elegant Portuguese Mocha Crème limestone, the tower blends contemporary geometry with contextual sensitivity.
Design Challenges
The project required a precision-engineered ventilated cladding system using large-format, lightweight limestone panels, while navigating tight site conditions with minimal laydown space and an evolving, phased construction schedule. The building’s distinctive geometry and complex structural connections demanded custom detailing throughout, including the careful coordination of deep window reveals and limestone sills to emphasize materiality and frame skyline views. In parallel, close attention was paid to directional stone grain and panel patterning to maintain visual continuity across the tower’s shifting planes.
